Valley Forge Chapter Newsblast - Dec. 2011

ANNUAL MEETING NOTES:

Your chapter was well represented at the Annual Society Meeting in October. Three members of the Executive Committee, President Norm MacMullan, Past President Don Martin and Sectretary Carl Sadler participated, and Carl reviewed the proceedings with us at our October Chapter meeting. The big event was the approval by the membership to form a closer affiliation with the Institutes. The motion was carried by an approval vote of about 95 to one, and was formalized by a revision of the Society's by-laws. Concrete steps to effect this change will take some time, since the Society's leaders will have to grapple with the legal difficulties of joining two organizations with different IRS codes. Progress is being made, and just last week the Society published a list of leadership offices for which it is seeking qualified volunteers.

CONGRATULATIONS:

Rajesh Narayan, our co-webmaster and peripatetic internationl CPCU ambassador, has been named General Manager and head of P/C operations at his form, ValueMomentum. Good luck, Rajesh!

NEW FACES ON THE LEADERSHIP TEAM

Don Roinstad and John Beauchamp have joined our leadership group. Both have strong producer backgrounds. John was responsible for one of our own chapter-produced accredited workshops, and Don has had considerable experience helping out at the Institutes. Welsome aboard and thanks or volunteering!

MEMBERSHIP IS GROWING

According to figures released by Membership Chairman Bill King, your chapter now lists well over two hundred members, which has placed it in the "Large Chapter" category by the Society. We welcome any suggestions you might have for further improvements of our programs, and cordially invite you to participate in whatever degree you can. A pledge of just three or four hours a month (mostly in front of your own computer) would go a long way to help share the duties of admoinistration.Give Bill King a shout at wpk516@comcast.net and join the parade.

Rosanna Hopp Gets Designation and Promotion

Rosanna M. Hopp, of State Farm, who acted as our Secretary from the day we began our re-birth, has had an eventful June. She was awarded her CPCU designation at about the same time she was promoted to (Prakash: get her official new title). Congratulations, Rosanna, and many thanks for the sterling work you did for the chapter.
